This week has been dedicated to refining our designs, taking valuable notes from the feedback of our usability testing, and making strides toward our upcoming showcase!
Our attention turned towards enhancing the aesthetics of both the box and the wristbands. We deliberated over the ideal color choice for the box that would embody our vision of cohesion and cleanliness. After much consideration, we decided to use blue paint that brings a sense of sophistication.
Additionally, we are tackling an essential aspect of the cooking process—providing users with a clear indication of its completion. Through usability testing, we realized that our users were unsure when the cooking process had finished. To address this, we devised a solution. We want to offer a definitive visual cue by integrating two light colors into the box instead of just a green light. The click & tap of the wristbands will trigger a white light, signifying that the cooking process is ongoing. When the cooking is completed, a second tap will send a signal to the box, triggering the green color we used in the ongoing design process, symbolizing the accomplishment. This different design approach ensures that our users feel fully engaged and connected throughout the cooking process, and know exactly where it stands.
Moreover, we took note of the valuable insights gained from usability testing. Our users' feedback revealed the need to emphasize the conclusion of the cooking process. With this in mind, we are committed to providing a memorable ending effect; we aim to leave our users with a profound sense of satisfaction and accomplishment, knowing that their cooking process is completed.
As we continue to enhance the functionality of the wristbands, we're focused on optimizing the precision and electrical conductivity of the magnets. We also recognize the significance of the clicking sound effect and its impact on the overall user experience. To elevate this aspect further, we embarked on a new design journey. Leveraging the power of 3D printing technology, we are crafting a new center design for the wristbands that will enhance the click&tap experience and ensure unparalleled accuracy. We eagerly anticipate the outcome, as this step promises to refine the process and elevate its precision.
In addition to these refinements, we're excited to announce that we have officially chosen our product name and logo! Say hello to "Kitchef" :) The logo embodies our vision and serves as a unique representation of our brand - a kit that will bring families together while cooking in the kitchen.
We are excited to see what next week will bring, and keep up with our design, refine, repeat method :)
