Week 15 - The Cookbook

This week, we had to make some important decisions regarding the technological aspect of our prototype. Our device was initially designed to be wrapped around the children's and parents' wrists, with magnets that would signal when a level was completed. However, during user testing, we realized that the magnets were too big on the children's wrists, making it difficult for them to bake in the kitchen with their parents.

Our goal was to make the cooking experience easy for everyone involved, so we decided to rethink the shape of our device. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, we had to make a quick decision on the new design. We settled on a box that has recipe cards and receives signals when a level is completed from the arm bracelets worn by the children and parents.

During the week, we spoke to Sagie, who helps us achieve our design approaches with our new prototypes. He introduced us to Neoprene, a synthetic rubber material that is widely used in wetsuits and other water-resistant products. Neoprene is known for its excellent resistance to water, oil, and heat, making it an ideal material for our bracelets when worn in the kitchen.

After discussing the material with Sagie, we decided to incorporate Neoprene into our bracelet design. We're excited to incorporate this new material into our designs and can't wait to see how it's received by our users when we will do user testings next week!
